Civil engineers and contractors in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi, RAK and UAQ generally encounter the same problem at almost every jobsite. A supplier provides a quote but subsequently delivers thin gauge aluminium, aluminium profiles of different sizes, and/or horrendous welds. These materials fail to withstand exposure to sun and humidity. Villa owners, especially foreign owners who purchased property in the UAE and manage the builds or renovations from afar, confront a different variation of the same problem.

Most of the time, they cannot go and check the workshops in Person. They do not always understand what an “aluminum supplier” means in that case, and, therefore, rely on word of mouth or one random listing they found on the Internet, for which they have no way of checking the work. The outcome for both parties is the same. On the day of the structure’s handover, the owners see a finished structure that looks okay. However, weak spots begin to appear in less than a year.
